New to Wayman?

 

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:14–16

 

Our story began in October 1899 with a small team and a big vision to make a difference in Frederick, Maryland for the good of all people and the glory of God.  Meeting initially in a private home before moving into a church building that had no bathrooms in our former home on Old Liberty Road. For over 100 years Wayman A.M.E. Church has served as a beacon of light to the surrounding community.  

 

We hold worship services each Sunday at 10:00 A.M..  We have weekly Prayer Meetings and Bible study at 7:00P.M. on Wednesday night. 

 

Throughout our journey we’ve seen many saved by Jesus while others reconnect with Christ and His church. We have helped care for the poor, pioneer new ministries, train leaders, equip missionaries, and seen many doors opened for the gospel.
